There are thousands of kids in care and few churches that are engaged in orphan care. This is why we’re starting Hope Fort Worth. We have to bring these kids into care in our homes, in our churches. The government makes terrible families—that isn’t their job. Their role is to protect these kids, but it’s our job to make sure that these kids have families.
We exist to mobilize local churches, here in Tarrant County and beyond, to make a difference in the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children.
We also exist to help churches launch good, sustainable orphan care communities. We want to see more families in these churches step forward and receive these children into their homes through foster care and through adoption.
CPS and the placing agencies know that the church is the answer to the orphan crisis and they are begging local churches to step forward and provide training and support for the families in their churches, and to have their families bring children into their homes. This is a door of opportunity that God has given us here in Tarrant County.
